Gwendolyn D. Wilson, of Schenectady, 59, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, July 9, 2024, after a brief illness at Ellis Hospital. She was the daughter of John Terry, Sr. and Morris Lee Wilson.
She was a graduate of Mont Pleasant High School Class of 1982, where she thrived academically and socially.
Gwennie, as she was affectionately known, was an ebullient, effervescent soul, with a gypsy streak. She would stay awhile in one place then move on without notice then reappear sometime later with her mischievous grin and loud boisterous laugh as if she had never left. Even in the midst of life's struggles, heartbreaks and setbacks, she always managed to smile and reassure everyone that she was doing fine, even when she wasn't.
Gwennie enjoyed several careers in her lifetime, enjoying being a surveyor the most because it enabled her to be outdoors. She didn't seem to like being confined by anything for long. Camping was her favorite pastime. Near the end of her life, Gwennie was a self employed Cleaning Specialist.
She was preceded in death by her daughter, Asia and brother Gregory and is survived by her brothers, John Terry, Jr., and Darwin Wilson, both of Schenectady, NY.
A memorial service celebrating the life of Gwendolyn D. Wilson will be announced at a later date.

Darwin and family, I am so sorry to hear about your loss. I was a classmate of Gwennie's at MPHS, and we were in cooking class together. I remember how full of life, love, and laughter she was. I am so sorry to hear that she is gone so young. My heart goes out to you.

I went to high school with Gwen and she was a beautiful human being. I´m so happy to be able to have Colter my friend. Although we lost touch over the years, I will have many fun memories of Gwen in the halls of Mount Pleasant high school and her sleep in peace, my friend you will be missed by many.

My dear neighbor for the past few yrs. Loved your energy, spirit, creativity, love for life. Always got hands doing something. A sweet, kind, person. Who help anyone out in need. We've spent many days talking outside. Letting the dogs at. Looking for rocks outside. Looking in the sky and the stars and talk about about what we see. Shared alot on conspiracy theories. I referred to you as Tigger. Always bouncing from one project to another. Full of life is how I will remember you. I'm so sorry for those who knew her that she will be forever gone. I can't believe how quickly everything went.
