H. Jeanne Baker, age 91, of Danville, PA, formerly of Covington, PA, passed away peacefully, surrounded by her family, on Friday, June 27, 2025, after a brief illness at Geisinger Medical Center in Danville, PA. She was born on February 17, 1934, in Williamsport, PA, a daughter of Arthur and Zula (Mapes) Nestlerode. Jeanne was the wife of the late Clarence A. "John" Baker for nearly 55 years before his death on September 18, 2009. They were married on December 20, 1954, the longest night of the year. She was a current resident of Maria Joseph Manor in Danville, PA, where she enjoyed winning at their weekly bingo games, having her nails painted, going on outings, and sharing her chocolates.
Jeanne is survived by her son, Jon Michael Baker of Bloomsburg, PA; daughters, Lori (David) Demchak of Harrisburg, PA, Kim (Kevin) Martz of Bloomsburg, PA, and Amy (Joel) Meyer of Mansfield, PA; grandsons, Zachary (Kaylee Andrews) Meyer, Dylan (Mataya Nickerson) Meyer, Jacob Demchak and Nicholas Demchak; great grandson, Maverick Meyer; brothers, James (Mary) Nestlerode, Dan (Mary Jo) Nestlerode, Jeff (Helene) Nestlerode, and Jon (Ginny) Nestlerode; sister, Jana (Kerry) Ridall; several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, and a sister, Judy Kowalski.
Friends and family are invited to call on Monday, July 7, 2025, from noon to 1:00 P.M. at Buckheit Funeral Chapel and Crematory, Inc., 637 S. Main St., Mansfield, PA. A funeral service will immediately follow at 1:00 P.M with Pastor Harry Colegrove officiating. Burial will take place in Tioga County Memorial Gardens in Mansfield, PA. Donations may be made in Jeanne's name to The Special Olympics, 2570 Boulevard of the Generals, Suite 124, Norristown, PA 19403. www.buckheitfcandcrematory.com
