Dee (preferred) passed away peacefully on September 17, 2025 after many visits from his children, grandchildren and great grandchildren. He was born on July 31, 1934, and was 91 years old. He was best known as Grandpa Dee. He was kind and sweet a great example of a Dad, Grandpa, Great grandpa and Husband. We were all blessed to have loved him. Dee had a very rich and meaningful life rooted in his love, service, and faith in his Heavenly Father and Jesus Christ. He will be greatly missed, but not forgotten.

He was born in Ogden, Utah and was raised mostly in Roy, Utah with about five years in California between the ages of 3 and 8. He was educated in Weber County Schools and received his Bachelor Degree at Weber State University.

Dee married his loving, and devoted eternal companion, Ann Neilson, from Taylor in the Salt Lake Temple June 12,1963 and they lived 52 of those years raising their four children close to the mountains in Liberty, Utah. He loved his life there.

Dee worked most of his career at Hill Force Base as an airplane mechanic and retired from there. He loved being around airplanes and their pilots. He worked on F16s and F4s, and some were experimental.

He was loved and respected by his family and his community. He was Bishop of Liberty ward from 1979 to 1985 and years later members of his ward would stop his wife, Ann, and take the opportunity to reminisce their years while he was bishop and some little thing he did for them. They loved him and their association with him.

He loved water skiing, snow skiing, airplanes and being with his family. He owned a few snowmobiles over the years and loved to snowmobile with his children and grandchildren over Monte Cristo east of Ogden Valley. In high school he was a runner and won a few awards on a state level. When he was young he served a mission in Holland and two years in the US Army.

He and Ann served a temple mission in the Atlanta Temple, a service mission in Family History, a service mission in the Bishop's Storehouse, an inner city mission and five years as a temple ordinance worker, along with many ward callings in the LDS Church.

Dee traveled many places around the world with his wife, Ann, and enjoyed several cruises with family and friends. His favorite was the Hawaii cruise on his 50 th wedding anniversary with his children and their spouses.

Dee is survived by his loving wife Ann Neilson Halliday of Liberty, Utah; children: Heidi (Mardell) Cheney of Alpine, Utah; Jeffery Dee (Erin) Halliday of Saint George, Utah; Joy (Shawn) Rios of Lehi, Utah; Blake Thomas (Nancy) Halliday of Liberty, Utah; a brother Thomas John (Elaine) Halliday, 15 Grandchildren, and 25 great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Norma and Howard Halliday, sister Lael Halliday, baby; sister Mary Ann Dallinga; a great grandson, infant Jude.

The family wishes to thank the wonderful caregivers at the George Wahlen Veterans Home in Ogden. Their love and caring service was amazing.

Services will be held in the Nordic Valley Ward building 2900 N Hyw 162, Eden, Utah September 27, 2025 at 11:00 AM. There will be a viewing before from 9:30 to 10:30 AM. Interment at the Liberty Cemetery.
