Dennis Taylor Obituary
November 17, 1943 – September 3, 2025
With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of our beloved father and grandfather, Dennis Lynn Taylor, who passed away on September 3, 2025 at the age of 81.
Dennis (Lynn) was born on November 17, 1943, in Ogden, Utah. He graduated from Ben Lomond High School and went on to earn degrees from Weber State University and Ball State University. He later achieved a Ph.D. from the University of Nebraska–Lincoln, reflecting his lifelong commitment to education and personal growth.
As a young man, Dennis (Lynn) served a mission for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in Guatemala and El Salvador where he developed a deep love for the people and culture. He also proudly served his country in the United States Air Force, living a life of integrity and service.
Dennis (Lynn) had a profound love of music and generously shared his talent throughout his life. He played multiple instruments and had a beautiful singing voice. Whether performing in choirs, musical groups, or community events, he found joy in connecting with others through music and was a source of inspiration to many.
He was also passionate about health, wellness, and nutrition, and spent much of his life promoting the benefits of a healthy lifestyle. His dedication to these values influenced countless lives for the better.
Dennis (Lynn) is survived by his five children Todd Taylor (Julie), Darin Taylor (Anna), Mark Taylor (Mindy), Tiffany Taylor Opp (Jim Opp), and Kevin Taylor (Livia), and thirteen grandchildren, and by his former wife Linda Oborn Stokes all of whom were blessed by his love, wisdom, and example. His legacy of faith, learning, music, and service lives on through them.
Internment will take place on Saturday, September 20, 2025, 3 pm at Ogden City Cemetery followed by a Memorial Service at 4 pm, at the Burch Creek 6th Ward building located at 3680 Eccles Avenue, Ogden, Utah 84403 to honor and celebrate his life. He will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered by all who knew him.
