Amy Young

We remember with love and admiration, Amy Shelleece Young, a woman of immeasurable compassion, adventurous spirit, and a heart overflowing with love and generosity. Born in Ogden, Utah, on November 25, 1981, Amy graced the world with her bright smile and tender soul for 43 beautiful years. Her life was a testament to the scripture, "Charity never faileth" (1 Corinthians 13:8), in every aspect of her life.

Amy faced many challenges in her life. The dark clouds of mental illness was the most difficult. She overcame many of other trials, including epilepsy and lupus. In spite of her problems, Amy always focused on brightening the lives of others with her happy disposition and positive spirit.

Amy was a radiant beacon of love and kindness, always ready to extend a hand of help to those in need. Her career as a jewelry maker was not just a profession, it was a passion. Through her business, Sunstones, she crafted beautiful pieces that she freely gave away that touched the lives of many, spreading joy and warmth. Her adventurous spirit was evident in every piece she made, each one a unique reflection of her creative soul. But Amy's true masterpiece was the love and care she bestowed upon her family, and the many children to whom she was a caregiver. Family was the jewel of her heart, her parents, brothers, sister, nieces, and nephews were her most precious gems.

Amy leaves behind her loving parents, Douglas and Bonnie Young; her devoted brothers, Scott Young, Shane (Mindy) Young, Michael (Amy) Young, and Matthew (Ashley) Young; and her cherished sister, Julie (Dereck) Williams. Her love for them was profound and unwavering, and her constant contact with her nieces and nephews reflected the deep and loving bonds she shared with her family.

A viewing will be held for Amy on Friday, September 26, 2025, from 9:30-10:30 am at the North Ogden 22nd Ward, 950 E. 2850 N., North Ogden, Utah, 84414. This will be followed by a celebration of Amy's life at 11am at the church. Join us as we remember Amy's life in all its fullness, as we celebrate her love, her spirit, and her countless contributions.
