April 6, 1932 – September 8, 2024
Dale Linder, age 92, formerly of Newton, Illinois, passed away at 3:50 PM on Sunday, September 8, 2024, at Salem Township Hospital in Salem, Illinois.
Funeral services celebrating Dale's life will be held at 11:00 AM – Monday, September 16, 2024, at the Meyer Funeral Home in Newton, Illinois, with Virgil Cisney officiating. The burial will be in the Cresthaven Memorial Park near Claremont, Illinois, with full military rites by the Jasper Post #20 American Legion. Visitation will be from 10:00 AM until service time. Harvey Dale, better known as "Dale," was born on April 6, 1932, in Iuka Township, in Marion County, Illinois, the son of Frank and Lulu (Olden) Linder.
Dale served his country in the United States Air Force during the Korean War. He was a farmer and heavy equipment operator for many years.
Dale attended Rose Hill Community Church and was a member of the Jasper Post #20 American Legion. He enjoyed horses and often was seen was his team and wagon on the country roads.
Dale is survived by:
Son – Alan (Toni) Linder of Kinmundy, Illinois
Daughter – Michelle Rezek of Nashua, New Hampshire
Son-in-law – John Johnson of Mcalpin, Florida
Special friend and companion – Marilyn Goff of Newton, Illinois
Brother – Butch (Donna) Linder of Odin, Illinois
8 Grandchildren and several Great and Great-great Grandchildren
Several nieces and nephews also survive
Dale was preceded in death by his parents, daughter Cheryl Johnson, son-in-law Steve Rezek, brother Wayne (wife Jeri) Linder, and sisters Barbara Hayes and Sue Simpson.
