H. Earl Underwood entered eternal rest on November 23, 2022. Earl was born on May 6, 1932 in El Dorado, Arkansas to Ed and Effie Underwood.
A funeral service will be held on Saturday, December 17, 2022 at 12:00 p.m. at Rose-Neath Funeral Home, 2500 Southside Dr., Shreveport, Louisiana. A visitation will be held from 11:00 a.m. until service time at the funeral home. Officiating the service will be Brother Bob Moore. Burial will follow at Forest Park West Cemetery, 4000 Meriwether Rd, Shreveport, LA.
Earl graduated from El Dorado High School. He was a member of the Shriner El Karubah Temple, and he proudly served in the Army National Guard. Earl was an electrician for Swepco and owned several bars including “Mr. Crows,” “Carolyn’s Tavern,” “Keynote,” and “My Place.”
Earl is preceded in death by his daughter, Tonee McCutheon. Left to cherish his memory is his wife, Carolyn Underwood, and his daughters, Sandra Bennett and Teresa Riffey.
Honoring Earl as pallbearers will be Anthony Edwards, AJ Edwards, Steve Bennett, David Riffey, Katherine Riffey, and Madison Bennett. Serving as honorary pallbearers will be Waymond Vines, Art Edwards, Doug Riffey, Junior Besha and Robert McCutheon.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorials be made to Shriners Children’s Hospital, 3100 Samford Avenue, Shreveport, Louisiana 71103.
