Haley Elaine Ligon, age 39, of Fort Worth, Texas, passed away on Thursday, August 7, 2025. She was born on September 15, 1985, in Grand Prairie, Texas. Haley grew up in Arlington and graduated from Martin High School.
Her parents adored their blue-eyed, blonde-haired angel — the little girl who insisted on pantyhose and pretty dresses just to sit with her Papa on the patio. From the very beginning, Haley carried herself with unique style and grace. That individuality followed her into adulthood, along with her deep compassion for others and her fierce love for her cats — Jake, Fiona, and Sylvia — who were never just pets, but her family.
Haley had a gift. She was a melody no one could quite put their finger on. Music was her language, especially The Beatles and her impressive record collection. You could tell Haley how you were feeling and ask, “Do you have a song for this?” and she always did. Lyrics spoke to her like whispers on the wind. She loved watching hockey with her family — often texting score updates to her cousin when the game wasn’t on her channel. She was always up for live music, a good time with friends and family, great sushi, and mani-pedis with her mom.
Haley will be deeply missed, and her memory forever cherished. Though we don’t have the answers for why she was taken so soon, we can rest in the promise of Romans 8:28: “And we know that in all things God works for the good of those who love Him, who have been called according to His purpose.” Part of Haley’s purpose was clear: to be a loving daughter, granddaughter, niece, cousin, friend, and devoted mother to her fur babies.
The Beatles’ song “The End” reminds us: “And in the end, the love you take is equal to the love you make.” Haley poured love, kindness, and connection into the world — and it came back to her in every life she touched.
Haley was preceded in death by her father, Douglas Ligon. She is survived by her loving mother, Janis Standridge, and stepfather, Stan Standridge; her grandmother, Lena Standridge; her stepsisters, Danica Lute and Breana Bittick; her brother-in-law, Lindel Bittick Jr.; and her nephew, Weston Bittick, who brought her immeasurable joy as his proud new aunt. She is also cherished by many extended family members and great friends.
