Elder Hamilton Wayne Burns

Elder Hamilton Wayne Burns, age 83, went to be with the Lord on Monday, July 29, 2024, at his home in Mena, Arkansas. He was born February 27, 1941, in DeRidder, Louisiana, to parents, Harry Holman Sr. and Alice Jewel (Ashley) Burns. Elder Hamilton Wayne Burns was an avid outdoorsman and family man. He loved going camping, fishing, and attending family reunions. Elder Wayne Burns was a deeply religious man; he had been a member of the Primitive Baptist Faith since age 15. He was appointed Deacon of his church in 1966, and in 1989 was ordained as a minister. Wayne was also a very proud veteran of the United States Army, gallantly serving from April 1958 to October 1961. Elder Wayne Burns is preceded in death by his parents, Harry Holman Sr. and Alice Jewel (Ashley) Burns, brothers, Reuben Burns, Harry Burns Jr.; sisters, Verna Ray, Miriam Brister, Barbara Vachula, and by his son-in-law, Phillip Williams. He is survived by his loving wife of 62 years, Flora Gean (Faught) Burns; son, Ken Burns; daughter, Wahkunda Williams; grandson, Donald Williams; granddaughters, DeeDee Sturdenvant, Valerie Watson, Destinie Williams, Daniele Heald; great-grandsons, Maverick Williams, Jayce Williams; great-granddaughters, Jesslynn Williams, Blake Sturdenvant, Becca Sturdenvant, Alleyiah Heald; sister, Alice Strange; as well as by numerous nieces, nephews, other family member and friends too numerous to mention. Services for Elder Hamilton Wayne Burns will be held Saturday, August 3, 2024, at 2:00 p.m., at the Beasley-Wood Chapel in Mena, Arkansas. Elder Dana Kinsey and Elder Philip Blankenship will be officiating under the direction of Beasley-Wood Funeral Home. Interment will be held after the services at Board Camp Cemetery in Board Camp, Arkansas. There will be a scheduled visitation held Friday, August 2, 2024, from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m.
