Grand Rapids Cremation Services - Grand RapidsHank W. Boks, age 78, of Howard City, Michigan, formerly of Grant, went home to his Lord and Savior on October 28, 2025.
Hank was born in Den Haag, Netherlands, was the son of Teunis and Jannie Boks. At the age of 10, he immigrated with his family to Ontario, Canada, an experience that shaped his love of exploration and appreciation for people and places around the world.
Hank lived a life full of faith, love, and adventure. He spent more than 25 years traveling, camping, and exploring with his wife and family—creating countless memories and sharing his joy for discovering new places.
A dedicated and compassionate professional, Hank devoted his career to serving others through his work with Newaygo County Community Mental Health, where he retired as Executive Director. His leadership, kindness, and deep commitment to helping his community left a lasting impact on all who knew him.
Hank was a faithful member of the Christian Reformed Church and found great purpose in serving his Lord through the church. Together with his wife, Pat, he participated in many service projects and mission trips, including work with the CRWRC Disaster Relief Society, helping those in need across the country.
He is survived by his loving wife and best friend, Pat; his children, Elizabeth (Rick) Vandermolen, Allison (Bret) Brummel, and Mike Boks; and his cherished grandchildren, Ethan and James Vandermolen, Ryan and Anna Brummel, and Henry and Alex Boks.
Hank will be remembered for his steadfast faith, his compassion for others, and the joy he found in both his work and the world around him.
Visitation will take place on Friday Nov. 21st from 6-8 PM at Grant Christian Reformed Church.
A Celebration of Life will be held Saturday Nov. 22nd at 11:30 AM, also at Grant Christian Reformed Church.
