Robert “Bob” Addison Owen, Jr., of East Lansing, MI and Greenbush, MI, died peacefully at home on November 2, 2025.
Bob was born on June 14, 1949, in Battle Creek, MI, to Robert Addison Owen and Erdine Lorraine Warren. He was a 1967 graduate of Battle Creek Lakeview High School and a 1972 graduate of Michigan State University. It was while attending MSU that Bob met the love of his life, Deborah Janowiak. Bob and Deborah raised their family in East Lansing, where Bob was a member of the local Optimist’s Club and served as a volunteer assistant coach for the East Lansing High School Girl’s Softball team. After Bob retired from the city he took a part time position with Oscoda Township as Zoning Administrator. Bob enjoyed wood working, word and number puzzles and relaxing at his cottage in Greenbush. He was a devoted Detroit Tigers and Spartan sports fan and shared his love of all things sporting with his daughters.
Bob was preceded in death by his parents, and is survived by his loving wife of 55 years, Deborah; children Bridget (Bill) Mohler of Greensburg, PA, Hilary Lynn Owen of East Lansing, grandchildren Madelaine Mohler, Charles Owen Mohler, Jack Owen and Leah Owen; siblings John Owen, Terry Owen and Rebecca (Bernie) Squires; step-father Glenn (Nancy) Lewis; siblings-in-law Jan Janowiak, Dan (Georgie) Janowiak, Rod Janowiak, Greg (Jamie) Janowiak, Maureen Frazee and Laura (Michael) Hrynewich, as well as many nieces and nephews.
