Harilaos D Maroudas was born in Vathy, Ithaki on May 7th 1946 to Andriana and Dionisios Maroudas.
His deep love for his family, Ithaki and God was always evident.
He attended and graduated from the Nautical academy in Ithaki, served in the Greek Navy, and became a seagoing Ship Captain. Everyone called him "The Captain."
He went on to lead Crossway Navigation Agency, Inc. after Konstantinos Naslas and Dimitrios Dionissiou did and coordinated thousands of steamship voyages, mostly Asphalt Tankers, from the office in NYC, working alongside Yianni Naslas, Michael Dionissiou, and his son Peter. The Asphalt Trader was his favorite ship.
He loved his family more than anything in this world - nothing made him happier than seeing family and friends together. He'd always give special greetings with an endearing and loving nickname.
He leaves behind his son Dennis, Peter, wife Yvonne, brother Gerasimos, sister Georgia, their beautiful children Dionisios, Natassa, Alexandra, niece Angela, her mom Sophia and Angela's beautiful children.
His generosity and deep affection for every single person he met, especially family and friends will always be remembered. He gave everything he had to his family. He made the world a happier place.
