Harlan Brown, aged 62, passed away on Monday, July 7th, 2025, at Memorial Hospital in South Bend, Indiana. Born on March 18th, 1963, to the late Floyd Gerald and Edna Mae Brown. Harlan grew up filled with a spirit of joy and kindness that endeared him to all.
A simple pleasure in life that Harlan thoroughly enjoyed was his frequent visits to McDonald's. There, he would indulge in a glass of root beer, a treat that he considered one of life's finest offerings.
Harlan found great joy and fulfillment in his time spent at LOGAN and Benchmark. He deeply appreciated these relationships, which played a significant role in his life.
He loved living life with everyone and anyone who liked to have fun. Harlan's favorite holidays were Turkey Time, Halloween and Santa Time, as he liked to call them. On Halloween, he loved dressing up as a doctor, although he hated going to them. He never knew a stranger and would say "Hello" to everyone he passed.
Harlan will be profoundly missed by all who had the pleasure of knowing him, forever remembered by his guardian Kim Mattix, and Paige DeCook, Cheryl Shade, Cherry Silverbirg, Gwen Foose and Lubasi Kekelwa who were in his life from his teen years until his passing.
Services for Harlan will be held at 12:00pm, Friday, July 18, 2025, at Palmer Funeral Home – River Park Chapel, 2528 Mishawaka Ave., South Bend, Indiana. Visitation will take place from 10:00am – 12:00pm at the funeral home prior to the service.
