Harold F. Anderson, 75, formerly of Prospect passed away peacefully while surrounded by the love of his family on Saturday, October 26, 2024 at the Pines of Bristol. Born March 30, 1949 in Waterbury a son of the late Harold Francis Anderson and Theresa (Gesek) Anderson.
Harold was a familiar and friendly presence as a UPS delivery driver for over 20 years, always bringing a smile to those he met. His outgoing personality helped him forge wonderful friendships along the way. Mornings often found him enjoying coffee and lively conversations with his Dunkin' Donuts crew. Harold also loved cruising in his favorite car while listening to the Eagles, Beatles, or The Cars, and he cherished attending the Prospect Car Show with his kids. Later on in life he became an avid Tom Bradey fan, movie fanatic, and enjoyed watching the musically talented.
Family was everything to Harold. His life revolved around his four children, and he took great pride in supporting their interests, attending every sporting event in his Prospect Soccer jacket. He spent countless hours playing basketball, swimming, and engaging in friendly games of pool with them. The joy in his life grew even more with the arrival of each grandchild, and he cherished every moment spent with family. His grandpup Otis was also a beloved companion, adding to the warmth of his family life.
Harold's love and memory are cherished by his four children: Kelly and her husband Aditya Rao of New Britain, Kate and her husband Thomas Dunn of Burlington, John and his wife Christa Anderson of Wolcott, and Ryan and his wife Kayla Anderson of Massachusetts. He is also survived by his beloved grandchildren: Peyton, Gavin, and Rohan Dunn, Maddie and Nora Anderson, and Marshall and Graham Anderson. Harold's former wife and the mother of his children, Sharon O'leary, resides in Prospect, along with his brother Ron Anderson of Litchfield. He is predeceased by his sisters Christine Vitarelli and Joanne Cheney.
A mass of Christian burial will be held on Monday November 4, 2024 at 10:30 am at St. Anthony's Church, 4 Union City Rd., Prospect. All those attending are kindly asked to meet directly at the church. Burial will immediately follow at New Pine Grove Cemetery, Waterbury. My condolences to the Anderson family. He was always a warm, kind, and outgoing man I knew while working at CVS in Prospect.
May he rest in peace with God.
