Harold Vance Booker, 90, passed away in the early morning hours of August 8, 2023. He was born in Montgomery on September 17, 1932, to Cecil Myer and Clara (Smith) Booker.
Harold was a 1950 Washington High School graduate, and worked for the US Postal Service. He served honorably in the Army National Guard, enjoyed truck pulling and was known to be a good handyman. He was a member of Our Lady of Hope Catholic Church.
Those who now mourn Harold's passing include his children: Michael L. Booker of Washington; Tony J. (Marty) Booker in Texas; Cathy Ann Booker Brown of Montgomery; Daniel W. (Brandi) Booker of Plainville; Donald L. (Tina) Booker of Petersburg; Sheri (Jeff) Criswell of Montgomery; Lisa (Dennis) Wilson of Montgomery and Darrin (Mitsy) Halbert of Martinsville. He was blessed with twenty grandchildren, several great-grandchildren, and Harold leaves a sister, Thelma Jayne Kessler of Indianapolis.
Harold was preceded in death by his parents, Cecil and Clara Booker; and a son, Mark Booker; sisters: Ruth Imogene (Handley) Darnial; Mary Frances Neidigh; Anna Louise (Joe) Strange; Virginia Rose (Harold) Booker; Dorothy Mae Brooker; brothers: Robert Junior Booker and Ralph Myer Booker.
Visitation for Harold Vance Booker will be 4:00-8:00 pm, Friday, August 11, 2023, at the Ed L. Lee Mortuary, 620 East Viola Avenue, Washington.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated for Harold Booker 11:00 am, Saturday, August 12, 2023, at St. Peter Catholic Church in Montgomery. Father Sudhakar Bhastati will be the celebrant. Burial will be at a later date.
