Phyllis Daily, 83, passed away peacefully during the early morning hours of July 15, 2025.
She was born in Washington on October 13, 1941, the daughter of Louis and Dorothy (Wilson) Daily.
Phyllis lived in Chicago for 20 years, traveling throughout the USA working as an Account Executive for Spartus Clock Company
and Cobra Electronics. Phyllis also worked for several years at the Washington YMCA. Her passion for children was evident; she
found joy in their curiosity and boundless potential, leaving a lasting impression on countless young hearts.
A devout Catholic, Phyllis was a member of Our Lady of Hope Catholic Church, the Legion of Mary, and served as Auditor and
past Regent of the Daughters of Isabella. She was also the president of the Monday Afternoon Club.
Phyllis never met a stranger, easily striking up conversations with endless stories that captivated all who listened.
Her absence will leave a lasting void.
Phyllis, the oldest of seven, is survived by her siblings: Bonnie (Mark) Jones of Washington, Dan (Melodie) Daily of Linton, John
(Peggy) Daily of Indianapolis, Mary Daily of Washington, and Christina Sipes of Washington. Surviving Niece and Nephews:
Barbara (Dominic) Jones, Brad (Cristen) Standley, Doug (Jessica) Standley, Shelley Jones, Derek Jones, Branden (Bethany) Daily,
Rae Ann (Mike Romano) Trueblood, Tyler (April) Daily, Daniel (Carey Bouchie) Ash, Levi Ash, Alisha Hinkle, Louie (Daniela) Sipes,
Jared Sipes, and several great-nieces and nephews and great-great-nieces and nephews.
During her lifetime, Phyllis mourned the loss of her parents, Louis and Dorothy Daily, her sister Lynda Standley, her brother-inlaw
John Standley, her nephew Mark Standley, her niece Rachael Graves, her great-great-niece Shay Fischer, and her greatgreat-
niece Shanna Fischer.
Visitation for Phyllis Daily will be held at Our Lady of Hope Catholic Church, Wednesday, August 6th, from 9 to 11.
A Mass of Christian Burial for Phyllis Daily will be celebrated after visitation on August 6th at Our Lady of Hope Catholic Church,
315 NE 3rd Street, Washington, Indiana. Father Paul Ferguson will be the celebrant.
Burial will be in the St. John Cemetery.
