Harold Thomas (Tom) Brown, made his final life journey when he went to meet Jesus on October 8, 2025.
Tom was born on October 21, 1951, the blessing of the late Harold P. Brown and Cora Wechsler Brown. He was a 1969 graduate of Boyd County High School where he was an awesome trumpet player in the band. Tom received his electrical certification at the Ashland Vocational School. He also served in the U. S. Navy aboard the SS Columbus.
Throughout his life, Tom became a certified SCUBA diver, and loved racing in motocross races. He was a self-employed residential contractor, carpenter, and electrician, specializing in building and refurbishing homes, installing alarm and security systems, and performing electrical work for many in the community. He later worked as an electrician for AK Steel until his retirement.
Tom loved spending time outdoors, whether it be fishing, boating, or simply enjoying nature's peace. He was also a talented, guitarist and singer, always ready to share a song or tell one of his famously corny jokes.
Those left to cherish his memory include his two sons, Adam Elisha Brown, Zachary Thomas Brown, and their mother, Erma Van Horn; all three of Ashland; two sisters, Susan (Tim) Berkebile of Claremont, FL; Sandi (Carl (Pete)) Roberts of Catlettsburg, KY; and many beloved cousins, including Gary Brown and David Miller, who were both like brothers to him from a very young age. Tom deeply loved his sons and all his family, his nieces and nephews, his cousins, aunts, uncles and held each one close to his heart.
Tom will be remembered for his kind spirit, sense of humor and wit, his intelligence, and the way he made those around him feel valued and loved.
