Harold S. Chapman Sr., "Chappy" age 83 of Jefferson Ohio passed peacefully surrounded by loved ones on Tuesday, July30, 2024. He was born on August 15, 1940 to Clarence and Irene Chapman in Perry, Ohio. He married June M. Chapman on May 10, 1997.
Harold enjoyed taking chances at the casino, watching all the Ohio sports teams, NASCAR, and taking power naps. He was known for telling everyone other than himself how to drive, sharing his Hungarian roots through cooking and baking, and visiting with others at the Jefferson Diner. At home he enjoyed feeding his hummingbirds, playing cards, and putting together puzzles. A favorite past time was sitting on his porch drinking coffee, watching his birds, and enjoying a smoke. The thing he loved most was spending time with his family. He frequently attended his granddaughter Willow's softball games, ran weekly errands with his daughter Megan, and hosted monthly dinners at his house where all were welcome. In his younger years, he enjoyed hunting, fishing, and bowling.
He is survived by his children; son Butch (DeAnne) Chapman of Salisbury, N.C., Kevin White of Orwell OH, Diana (Jason) White of Orwell OH, Sarah (Geoff) Phelps of Rome OH, and Megan (Jarrod) White of Jefferson OH. Harold is also survived by his loving grandchildren; Spencer (Leslie), Trinity (Dan), Tagan, Alainna aka his "Scooter," aka his "Favorite," Willow, and his great-grandchildren; Maximus, Rowyn, and Carter. A special note to his two honorary girls Laura R., and Brittany S., and honorary sons Jimmy (Jen) L., and Dale F. Also a special mention to his very close friend Donna B., all of his diner friends, and neighbors. He was also very much loved by all of his grand-animals.
Harold is preceded in death by the love of his life June M. Chapman. May we all find peace knowing that they are together again.
A celebration of life will be planned for a future date.
