Harold Edwin Duce of Two Egg, Florida died Friday, April 25, 2025, at his home, after a lengthy decline in his health. He was born in Jackson County Florida, on February 26, 1934. He was a resident of Gulf Breeze, Florida from 1970 to 2005.
Edwin served his country in the United States Air Force and then worked for Firestone in his early years. After moving to Gulf Breeze, he worked for Lewis Bear Company as Vice President of the Appliance and Electronics division.
After leaving Lewis Bear Company he started a tire business with his business partner Gerald Andrews. The name of the business was G & E Tires with four locations in the Gulf Breeze and the Fort Walon area. He was an original charter member of the Gulf Breeze Rotary Club. Edwin and his wife Cozine, were members of the Santa Rosa Shores Baptist Church and later East Brent Baptist Church. He served as a deacon and worked with the youth while attending Santa Rosa Shores Baptist Church. After moving to Two Egg, he became a member of the First Baptist Church, Marianna, and later Lovedale Baptist Church in the Two Egg Community.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Cozine B. Duce; father, Jame H. Duce; mother, Lelia Duce; stepmother, Laura B. Duce; two Brothers, Carl Duce and Arthur Duce, and his great-grandson, Joshua J. Howell.
He is survived by his second wife, Wilma Duce and his sons, Dale E. Duce (Nancy) and Daniel K. Duce (Julie). He is also survived by his grandchildren, Adam D. Duce, Allyson D. Howell (Brice), Andrew D. Duce (Lauren) and Ashley A. Basford (Thomas). Additionally, he is survived by great-grandchildren, Charlotte (Charlie) J. Howell, Ellady J. Duce, Olivia B. Duce and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral Services will be 11:00 AM, Monday, April 28, 2025 at Lovedale Baptist Church, 6595 Lovedale Road, Greenwood, Florida with Dr. Robin Jumper officiating. Serving as pallbearers will be Andy Duce, Adam Duce, Mark Basford, Chuck Hudson, Jeff Pittman and Willy Shannon. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at 10:00 a.m.
A private interment will follow in Pinecrest Memorial Gardens with James & Sikes Funeral Home Maddox Chapel directing.
Family request in lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Lovedale Baptist Church in his memory.
