Harold Gansman, 88, of Evansville, Indiana, passed away Thursday, January 25, 2024 at Heart to Heart Hospice.
Harold was born in Millersburg, Indiana, on February 5, 1935 to the late Edward and Josephine (Ritzel) Gansman. He honorably served in the United States Army. Harold retired from Whirlpool after over 40 years of service. He loved to go hunting and fishing with his son, family, and friends. Harold was a member of the Erie Canal Beagle Club, the Campbell Township Conservation Club, and the Whirlpool 808 Retires Club. He will be remembered as a loving husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, brother and friend.
Harold is survived by his wife of 63 years, Judith (Runau) Gansman of Evansville, IN; son, David Gansman of Evansville, IN; sisters, Dorothy Grace, Marilyn Maroni (John), Barbara Paul, Betty Rexing (Carl), and Carolyn Wolfe; brothers, James Gansman (Joann), Gene Gansman (Janie), and Ronald Gansman (Jean); grandchildren, Jason Gansman (Kristina), Jeremy Gansman (Dana), and Jessica Kneer (Shane); and eight great-grandchildren.
Harold was preceded in death by his parents; a sister in infancy and sister, Margaret Boyd; and brothers, Paul Gansman and Bernard Gansman.
A Mass of the Resurrection will be held at 11:00 am on Wednesday, January 31, 2024 at St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church, 5301 Daylight Dr., Evansville, IN 47725, with Father Chris Forler celebrating. Burial will follow at St. John the Evangelist Catholic Cemetery. American Legion Post 351 will conduct military honors.
Friends may visit from 9:00 am until mass time on Wednesday at St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church.
Memorial contributions may be made to St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church.
