"Ted" Harold Louis Hunter Jr., 86, of London, died Wednesday, December 29, 2021, at the Bluebird Retirement Community, London. Ted was born July 25, 1935, in London, Ohio, the son of Harold Louis Hunter Sr. and Virginia Larie (Culpepper) Hunter.
Ted was retired from AT&T which was formerly Ohio Bell. He was a member of the First United Methodist Church of London, where he and Phyllis could always be seen volunteering at the beloved Baked Steak Dinner. Ted also served as head usher and was part of the Zoo Crew for the church. He was a member of Jayceye's, Kiwanis, and was very instrumental in the development of LABC, where a league is named after him at Bur-Wheeler Park. Ted also enjoyed his time playing in a golf league at Hickory Grove Golf Course.
He is survived by his children: Sue (Craig) Pass of Amherst, Ohio; Nan (Kim) Hunter of Plain City, Ohio; Jeff (Michelle) Hunter of London; sister Pat (Dick) Snyder and brother Dick (Marcia) Hunter; grandchildren: Ryan Ladd, Courtney (Brandon) Brock, Chase Hunter, Noah Hunter, Brody Hunter, Addison Hunter, Chad (Krystle) Pass, Cayla (Josh) Riedy, Wesley Pass; great-grandchildren: Leah Brock, Olivia Brock, Alexa Brock, Chloe Pass, Beau Riedy, and Hunter Riedy; numerous nieces and nephews and cousins and many, many friends.
Ted has been reunited with his high school sweetheart and wife of 65 years Phyllis Joan Hunter, their love was a love you read about, the high school baseball star falls in love with the majorette. Ted is preceded in death by his parents and brother Bill (Marty) Hunter.
The family invites friends to call at the First United Methodist Church, 52 N. Main St, London, on Sunday, January 2, 2022, from 2pm-4pm with a funeral service to begin at 4pm with the Reverend Dave Leckrone officiating. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Ted's memory to the First United Methodist Church, London, or Loving Care Hospice, 56, S. Oak St., London.
Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to the Lynch Family Funeral Home & Cremation Service. Online condolences may be sent to www.lynchfamilyfuneralhome.com. Those attending the services at the church are respectfully asked to wear a mask and practice social distance standards as much as possible.

Ted Hunter was the kindest, dearest and sweetest man I have had the honor of knowing. A devoted husband, proud and loving father and a wonderful, fun grandpa. He will always have a special place in our hearts. God bless his sweet gentle soul.
