Violet "Vi" Carter, 100, of London, died Wednesday, August 13, 2025, in her residence, surrounded by her loving family.

Born March 15, 1925, in Catawba, Ohio, she was a daughter of Henry Jackson and Lillian Margaret (Minthrop) Venrick.

A member of the London Church of Christ in Christian Union, Vi was also active in her community serving as a volunteer at Madison County Hospital and the Madison County Food Pantry and was also a poll worker. She had worked for the Kroger Company before her retirement in 1979.

Survivors include her children James (Judy) Carter, Jack Carter, Sharon Manion and Brenda (Mike) Fitch; honorary daughter and son Donna and Geno Vickers; three grandchildren, several great-grandchildren and great-great grandchildren; sisters Doris Landis and Elinor Williams; many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Alfred Carter, daughter Gloria "Jeannie" Kauffman, siblings Ed Venrick, Nathan Venrick, Maurice Venrick, Henry "Junior" Venrick, Ellen Ellis and Theresa Cameron.

The family wishes to thank ViaQuest Hospice for the wonderful care they gave to Vi.

Funeral services will be held at 1:00 PM Monday, August 18, 2025, in the EBERLE-FISHER FUNERAL HOME AND CREMATORY, 103 N. Main Street, London with Reverend Lee Stanley officiating. Interment will follow in Somerford Township Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home on Monday from 11:00 AM until time of services.
