Harold Jasper Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Kalkaska Funeral & Cremation Services on May 15, 2023.
Harold Eudell Jasper, 84, of Kalkaska, passed away on Friday, May 12, 2023. On August 14, 1938 in Windsor, Kentucky, Lewis Jasper and Elsie Delk Jasper became parents of a chubby baby boy they named Harold Eudell Jasper. He was welcomed by Allen, Clinton, Bernadine, and Barbara. As his fifth birthday approached, the family was packing up the household to move to Romulus, Michigan. That turned out to be a very sad day for Harold because his family gave his beloved dog Bounce away. Ten years passed and a baby brother Glenn appeared. Harold graduated from Romulus High School in 1957, where he also met his future wife Diane Tucker. They married on May 27, 1961 (they were 15 days short of 62 years of marriage). That love produced Kevin (Vicky) Jasper, Steve (Lisa Schram) Jasper and Kristin (Charlie)Jasper Witt. But in his opinion, the best was yet to come. Grandkids: Ben Birgy, Kyle Jasper, Jack Kloc, Delaney Kloc, and Olivia Jasper, and three great-grands: Beck, London, and Esme Birgy. As of Friday, May 12, 2023 the Jasper family has dwindled down to one surviving son Glenn. Harold left us here on earth to join loved ones in heaven. He fought as hard as any man could. We have cried and laughed a lot these past few days and when that star in the sky winked at me, I knew it was you telling us "I'm fine". A memorial service will be held on Saturday, May 20, 2023 at Kalkaska Funeral Home in Kalkaska, Michigan. Visitation will be from 12:00 to 1:00 pm followed by the service at 1:00 pm. Burial will follow at Lodi Cemetery. The family asks, if you're so inclined, to share a memory with everyone during the service. Flowers are beautiful but the family would like for you to consider a donation to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital instead. For anyone sending love and hugs our way -- back at ya! God knows that's what the world needs. Arrangements have been entrusted to Kalkaska Funeral Home and Cremation Services.
