Harold Lassley Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by King-Barr Funeral Home, LLC - Lewistown on May 6, 2024.
Harold J. Lassley, 72, went out on his own terms on May 4, 2024. Harold answered to many names, including, but not limited to: Harry, Rat, Razor, Bud, Chuck, and others that are restricted by publication regulations. Son of Alfred and Esther (Sheard) Lassley, he was born September 17, 1951, in Callicoon, N.Y. He graduated from Kishacoqiullas High School in 1970 and worked on a farm until 1972. He spent his entire career working at New Holland as a CNC Operator until they closed. Harry was never content sitting still and enjoyed his time as a Petroleum Transfer Engineer at Valero, where he earned his "folding money." This also prevented him from ramming around town disturbing the peace. Harry's pastimes included: instigating, pilfering lunchboxes, scooter rides, time in the mountain, people watching, eaves dropping, woodworking, and relaxing by the creek with a Miller Light. He enjoyed most of these pastimes as a member of Camp High Top, The American Legion, and The Moose Lodge. He was a "world traveler" who enjoyed the simple things in life and was infamous for his quiet humor and pranks. He had the work ethic of a mule and the startle reflex of a jumping bean making him an easy target for payback. Above all else, Harry valued his special relationships with family and friends. Harry was preceded in death by both parents and his sister Grace Wagner and niece Kimberly Kerstetter. He is survived by his three daughters and their families. Nicole and James Seiler of Lewistown, PA, Leslie and Michael Goodling of Palmyra, PA, and Shawna and Shastri Maraj of Montgomery Village, MD. His grandchildren Landon Seiler, Aubrey Goodling, Crewe Mellott, Raelyn Seiler and Auna Goodling. Also grieving is surviving family, by blood and by choice. As Harry had many adopt him as honorary family. Harry was a deeply loved father, brother, uncle and friend to many. He was caring and dependable, a man you could count on no matter what. There was so much more to him than being a dad, but to him this was his greatest role. Out of respect for his wishes no services will be held, effectively deterring his life-long friends from sitting around and talking smack about him. In lieu of flowers please make a donation to the charity of your choice. Arrangements have been entrusted to King Funeral Home, 47 Carriage House Lane, Reedsville.
