Harold Edward Mosher

Harold E. Mosher, Jr. 'Chip', age 78, passed away on January 18, 2026 at Corning Center for Rehabilitation and Nursing in Corning. Born on February 22, 1947 in Corning, NY, he was the son of the late Harold E. Mosher, Sr. and Shirley (Grant) Letts.
Chip was a graduate of Corning West High School, Class of 1966. Following graduation, he proudly served in the United States Air Force from 1966 to 1970. After his military service, Chip began a long and dedicated career with Corning Incorporated, where he worked as a tinner for 50 years before retiring.
In his younger years, Chip was an avid motorcycle enthusiast and even built his own trike. He enjoyed bowling with Helen and was an enthusiastic golfer. Chip also looked forward to his yearly vacations to Florida.
A devoted animal lover, Chip especially cherished his dog, Pepe, who was the love of his life. He also enjoyed the companionship of his cats and birds. Above all, Chip loved spending time with his grandchildren and being surrounded by his family, who meant everything to him.
Chip is survived by his loving wife of 50 years, Helen Mosher of Corning; son, Harold E. Mosher, III of Painted Post, NY; daughters: Kelly M. Mosher of Dansville, VA, Margie Mosher of Watkins Glen, NY; grandchildren: Jonathan Walmsley, Tyler Shoultes, Brian Fairchild, Micah Congdon-Mosher, Matthew Smith, Haileigh Warrick; great grandchildren: Jonah Mosher, Finn Shoultes, Paxton Mosher, Arya Mosher and Kevon Mosher; and close friend, Robert 'Bud' Faulkner of Corning, NY.
In addition to his parents, Chip was predeceased by his daughter, Samantha Mosher; and brother, David Mosher.
A graveside service with full military honors will be held in the spring. Carpenter's Funeral Home, 14 E. Pulteney St., Corning has been entrusted with Chip's care.
