Harold Eugene "Pete" Parish, aged 73, passed away peacefully on January 30, 2026, in Wilmington, North Carolina. Born on June 12, 1952, in
Lumberton, North Carolina, Pete was a beloved husband, brother, uncle, and friend who touched the lives of many with his kindness and passion for life.
Pete was a proud graduate of Bladenboro High School, class of 1970. Shortly after, he dedicated himself to serving his country by joining the United States Navy, where he served honorably for 20 years until his retirement in 1990. His service to his country was a source of great pride and accomplishment.
Following his naval career, Pete embarked on a successful second career in industrial services. He worked with Team Industrial Services until 2016, and later joined The Rangeline Group, where he remained until his passing.
Outside of his professional life, Pete was a man of many interests. He found joy in playing and building guitars, spending time on the water boating and fishing, and participating in Tae Kwon Do. Pete was also an avid NASCAR racing fan and cherished cruise vacations with family and friends.
Pete was a dedicated member of Coastal Community Baptist Church, where his faith and community were central to his life.
He is preceded in death by his son Joshua M. Parish; father, Robert A. Parish; mother, Esther M. Guyton; stepfather, Prentice Guyton.
Pete leaves behind his loving wife of 53 years, Nona Carolyn Parish; two devoted sisters, Regina Guyton of Fayetteville, NC, and Barbie Silvas of
Bladenboro, NC; and a brother-in-law, Bobby Herring of Clarkton, NC. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews, cousins, and dear friends who will miss his warmth and generosity.
A visitation will be held at Coastal Community Baptist Church, located at 7721 Alexander Road, Wilmington, NC 28411, on Saturday, February 21, 2026, at 1 p.m., followed by a service at 2 p.m., officiated by Pastors Greg Hales and Aaron Lee.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial donations be made to the
American Heart Association in Pete's memory.
Pete will be remembered for his unwavering love for his family, his dedication to his country, and his zest for life. His spirit and legacy will live on in the hearts of all who knew him.
