Harold Schamber Obituary

Born in Fredericksburg on December 30, 1930, he was the son of the late Ralph and Ruth (Wenger) Schamber. He served in the Army during the Korean Conflict. During his working years he worked as a steel worker for HARSCO. Harold was a member of the Shellsville VFW.
He is survived by his son Donald W. husband of Sheila Schamber of Dennis, MA, stepsons Larry F. Mengel and his partner Maureen Caldwell of Hummelstown, John H. husband of Patricia Mengel of Jonestown, Charles T. Mengel of Fredericksburg, Michael L. husband of Debra Mengel of Fredericksburg, and son-in-law George Reinbold of Pine Grove, wife of his late daughter Fern L. Reinbold; grandchildren Andrew & Matthew Schamber, Jill & Douglas Mengel, Andrew & Michael Caldwell, Kristopher Mengel, Steven & Charles Mengel, Jr., Joseph Mengel & Jessica (Mengel) Kumar, Stephanie (Reinbold) Lutz, & Dustin Reinbold, sister Andora Miller of Sylva, N.C. He was preceded in death by brother Eugene R. Schamber, sisters Marian Deaven, Miriam Bordner and Pauline Zellers.
Funeral services will be on Saturday June 14, 2025, at 10:00 a.m. at the Kreamer & Lum Funeral Home, Jonestown. The viewing will be held on Friday from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. and from 9:30 a.m. to the start of the service on Saturday. Interment will follow at Union Salem Cemetery.

I played music with Harold for a few years, he was a good musician and he and "Chrissy" were fun to be with.
