On December 4, 2025 Harold E Shonio died at the Mayo Care home in Northfield, Vermont. Harold was born on September 30, 1932 in Stowe, Vermont to Guy Lewis Shonio and Evva Pearl Gibbs. He was self-employed for many years, owning and operating a variety of businesses within the Vermont area; including the Exxon station in Stowe, Vermont.
He served in the army from 1953 to 1955.
Harold resided at the Mayo Care home in Northfield for two years, where he received exceptional and loving care. As Harold was transferred from the Mayo Care home, he received a special acknowledgment from the nursing staff and his caregivers. The family would like to especially recognize Elyza, Rebecca and Nicole for the care they gave Harold.
He leaves behind his wife of 70 years Patricia Libby Shonio; his three children: Dawn (Keith) Cochran, Debbie (Richard) Marshall, and Chris (Suzie) Shonio; seven grandchildren and four great grandchildren; one sister, Sally Percy, and a sister-in-law Barbara Magoon Shonio. Harold was predeceased by three brothers and one sister.
A private funeral service will take place at a later date in the spring. In lieu of flowers, donations may be sent to the Mayo Health Care, 71 Richard St, Northfield, VT 05663.
