Harold F. Wesley was born November 20, 1952, in Kansas City, Missouri, to Mary J. Wesley and Freddie Wesley. Harold was educated at Central High School and worked at Milgrim’s Grocery Store. He was also employed at TWA, where he went on to retire, giving 43 years of hard work and dedication. Harold Wesley was married to Vernestine Halcrombe, and in this union they had two beautiful daughters, Ebony Wesley-Landis and Shunda Wesley, in which after 12 years they divorced.

Harold was a member of Progressive Missionary Baptist Church, where he served in the bus ministry; he was faithful to be at the church to open the doors for other saints, no matter what function was happening at the church. He sang with the Male Chorus and was also appointed as the Chairman of the Trustee Board by the late Pastor William Snoregrass. Mr. Wesley was so honored to have the opportunity to serve in this position until his health would no longer allow him to serve anymore.

Harold departed this life on August 5, 2025. He is preceded in death by his parents, Mary and Freddie Wesley; his beloved uncle, Harold Wesley, whom he was named after; and other special loved ones that have transitioned.

Harold leaves to cherish his memory his daughters, Ebony Wesley-Landis (Derrick) and Shunda Wesley (Reginald), both of Kansas City, Missouri; grandsons, Aundra’ Small Jr. (Dayauna), Davion L. Fugate, and Cullen O. Landis IV; granddaughters, Heavenleigh M. Jaye and Z’Mya Killingsworth (William); great-granddaughters, Calli Landis,Phenyx and Pharyn Small and Za’layah Mack; a special friend of many years, Angela Husband; and very close and special cousins, Robert Wesley, Chester and Shirley Burns, Charlie Wesley, and Marsha Burns.

Mr. Wesley will be missed by a host of cousins on both sides of his family and those who started out as friends and became family over the years. A man who collected and loved old school cars, two-stepping, dominoes, and music, he will truly be missed and never forgotten by the many family and friends left behind.

A funeral service will be held Saturday, August 23, 2025 at Progressive MBC, 2945 Bales Ave, Kansas City, MO 64128. The visitation will begin at 9:00 AM, the service will follow at 11:00 AM. Mr. Wesley will be interned at XII Gates Memorial Gardens Cemetery, 9500 Bannister Rd, Kansas City, MO 64134.
