Harriet Denham

Harriet Thompson Denham, 81, of Stanford, KY passed away on Tuesday, December 30, 2025 at Ft. Logan Hospital in Stanford. Born on June 12, 1944 in Stanford to the late Eugene Thompson and the late Janet Dudderar Thompson.

Harriet grew up in the small community of Goshen, before she met her husband, Calvin Denham, of 62 years in February. She began her career at Ft. Logan Hospital in Stanford, one that spanned over five decades, illustrating her unwavering commitment and dedication. Harriet started working there in 1963 and served the community diligently for 53 years before her retirement. She was not just an employee, but an integral part of the institution, always going the extra mile to ensure the comfort and well-being of everyone she encountered. A devout member of the Stanford Baptist Church since 1972, Harriet was a prayer warrior, her faith forming the foundation of her life and actions.

Harriet had a heart as expansive as the heavens. She made it her mission to spread kindness and warmth, often through her hobby of sending thoughtful cards to friends and loved ones. A lover of all things beautiful, Harriet had a particular fondness for auctions and yard sales, where she would spend hours searching for unique dishes to add to her extensive collection. Her home was a treasure trove of these handpicked pieces, each with its own story, much like Harriet herself. She also had a special love for her granddaughter, Makenna. Their "Girls Days" were some of the most cherished moments of Harriet's life, filled with love and laughter.

Harriet was a woman whose love knew no bounds, whose faith stood unwavering, and whose spirit was a beacon of hope. She was a remarkable woman whose life was rooted in her faith, her family, and her community, Harriet's life was a testament to the power of love and service.

Survivors include her loving husband, Calvin Denham; and one granddaughter, Makenna Denham of Richmond, KY.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Eugene and Janet Thompson; and her loving son, Calvin "Todd" Denham.

Visitation will be held on Friday, January 2, 2026 from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at Stanford Baptist Church. The funeral service will be on Saturday, January 3, 2026 at 11:00 a.m. at Stanford Baptist Church with Bro. Max Hester and Bro. Greg Hancock officiating. Burial will follow at Buffalo Springs Cemetery in Stanford.

Active Pallbearers are Joshua Shaddox, Doug Denham, Dr. Craig Arnold, Tim Whitis, Donnie Sutherland, Dr. Jeremy Johnson and Jim Bryant.

Honorary Pallbearers are Glenn Spoonamore, Remonia Spoonamore, Dennis Spangler, Woods Adams, Anna Demarcus, Linda Peck, Beverly Shaddox and Linda Lou Lynn.
