Nave Funeral Home - ErinHarry Lee Batten 86, of Clarksville TN, formerly of Houston County, TN went to be with his Lord and Savior on Sunday, July 27, 2025, in Clarksville, TN.
A Celebration of Life Service will be held 12:00 p.m. Sunday August 3, 2025, at the Chapel of Nave Funeral Home in Erin, TN, with Bro. Seth McDowell officiating. Burial will follow at Hill Orchard Cemetery, Stewart, TN.
The Batten family will receive friends on Sunday August 3, 2025, from 10:00 am until the hour of service at Nave Funeral Home.
Harry was born in Broseley Missouri on April 14, 1939, son to the late Hershel and Ida Elizabeth (Cato) Batten. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his loving wife, Edith “Earlene” Batten; five brothers, Adon Batten, Clyde Batten, Kenneth Batten, Ronald Batten, Edwin Batten; one sister, Jean Batten; step-daughter, Aniata (Kathy) Lynch; and a granddaughter, Megan (Batten) Peterson.
Harry was a Navy veteran with 10 years of service as a Navy Corpman, which led him into his profession serving in the medical field. He worked as a hospital lab technician and supervisor, and later had a long career working for Hospital Corporation of America (HCA) as a project manager where he retired.
He truly loved Erin and the community he lived and served in. He was a Shriner, a Mason, County Commissioner, and served on several boards in Houston County. He also served as the Mayor of Tennessee Ridge for a time.
Above all else he was a man of faith and integrity. He loved his family as Christ loves all of us, with arms wide open. As an outdoors man he loved living on the farm where he enjoyed fishing and hunting with visiting friends and family. Always well-mannered, he was generous, kind and a gentleman.
Survivors include three sons, Marcus (Jean) Batten of Paragould Arkansas, Michael (Bridgette) Batten of Paragould Arkansas, Steve (Denise) Batten of Clarksville, TN; stepson, James (Lori) Gammons of Fairview TN; one brother, Denny (Janice) Batten of TX; eight grandchildren,
Rossi (Sarah) Morgan, Wyatt Batten, Cato Batten, Jax Batten, Cody (Ashton) Batten, Chelsea (Andrew) Knopp, Colton (Emily) Batten, Jessica Watson, along with eight great-grandchildren.
Serving as pallbearers will be Larry Walker, Brian Walker, James Snyder, Jeremy Stewart, Wally Cox, Patrick Baine.
Honorary pallbearers will be Clifford Batten, Kerry Dale Batten, James Batten, Kenny Batten Jr.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Shriners Hospitals for Children, Office of Development, International Shrine Headquarters, 2900 Rocky Point Dr., Tampa, FL 33607-1460.https://donate.lovetotherescue.org
