Mr. Harry Francis Davenport

Harry Francis Davenport, Jr., 93, husband of Edwina Mary Englert Davenport, passed away peacefully on Friday, October 24, 2025, surrounded by family.
Born in Wilmerding, PA, Harry Jr. was the son of the late Harry F. and Christina Davenport. He and his cherished wife of 68 years, Edwina, made their home in Winter Garden, FL, where he devoted himself to establishing the newly founded Calvary Baptist Christian School and teaching 6th grade for over 18 years. Harry loved to read his Bible and share its truth with others. Known for his big heart for children, Harry was also well-loved by members of his church, Calvary Baptist in Winter Garden. Harry appreciated many Christian hymns and one of his favorites "O Worship the King," reflects the message of Psalm 103, especially verse 12.
Harry is survived by his daughters: Beth Horn (Sam), and Cyndie Davenport; grandchildren: Matthew Movassaghi, Cameron Movassaghi (Callie), Ashton Horn, Robert Horn (Audrey) and great-granddaughter: Nora Horn, as well as by his sister-in-law, Belle Davenport, many nieces, nephews, cousins and other family members.
Harry was preceded in death by his parents, 3 siblings and his wife: Edwina Mary Englert Davenport; and son: Douglas Paul Davenport; and daughter: Melanie Davenport Movassaghi.
A Memorial Service will be held at 1:00 pm on Friday, December 5, 2025, at Palmetto Baptist Church, 2730 Anderson Road, Greenville, SC 29611. Friends and family will be received from 11:45 am to 12:45 pm in the front foyer area of the church.
