Harry O'Donnell

Harry T. "Ted" O'Donnell, Jr., 70, of Chambersburg, passed away on Tuesday, December 27, 2022 at his home. Born September 28, 1952 in Chambersburg, he was a son of the late Harry T. O'Donnell, Sr. and Anna M. Poe O'Donnell.
A US Marine Corps veteran, Ted served honorably during the Vietnam War. He was employed as Recycling Manager at Letterkenny Army Depot for 27 years. Ted was a member of the Order of the Eastern Star Martha Custis Chapter #342 where he served as Worthy Patron for several years. He was also a member of Orrstown Lodge #262 F&AM. He loved his cats and dogs and spending time with his family. He also enjoyed volunteering at the Marion Festival.
He is survived by his wife of 46 years, Doris J. Crider O'Donnell, whom he married on June 3, 1976; two children, Lisa A Tacker (Bret) and Shaun P. O'Donnell (Nicole), both of Chambersburg; two grandchildren, Austin and Cody Tacker; seven siblings, Linda J. Morrow, Marlin E. Poe, Deborah K. Mietus, Lilla M. O'Donnell, Donna A. Foust, Anthony W. O'Donnell and Barbara A. Mowen; and numerous nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, Ted was preceded in death by two brothers, Robert L. O'Donnell and Donald R. O'Donnell.
Funeral services will be held at 10:00 AM on Saturday, December 31, 2022 in the chapel of Thomas L. Geisel Funeral Home and Cremation Center, 333 Falling Spring Road, Chambersburg, PA. Rev. Ronald Cook will officiate. Interment will follow the service in Norland Cemetery. The family will receive friends on Friday evening, December 30, 2022 from 6:00 – 8:00 PM and one hour prior to the service on Saturday. An Eastern Star service will be held on Friday evening at the funeral home at 7:00 PM. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Cumberland Valley Animal Shelter, 5051 Letterkenny Road West, Chambersburg, PA 17201.
