Harry F Rogers Jr, 76, passed away peacefully in his sleep on August 27, 2024. Born on September 26, 1947, in Maynard, Massachusetts, he dedicated much of his life serving his community and country.
Harry proudly served in the Air Force, where he embraced the discipline and camaraderie that military life offered. His commitment to excellence was evident in his subsequent career as a nuclear electrician, a field that demanded precision and expertise.
Beyond his professional life, Harry was deeply involved in activism, advocating for peace and justice with passion and determination. He also had a unique ability to lighten any room with his humor, bringing joy and laughter to friends and family alike. He never met a stranger and loved his Carolina Gamecocks.
He was a valued member of the Columbia Friends Meeting where he found spiritual nourishment and fellowship.
Harry is survived by his loving wife, Jane Rogers; his daughter Kimberly Gray (Gabrielle/Josh/Tonie Jean Heraly, Lyndsay and Kolton Borchers, Mason D Gray), his son Harry (Trey) Franklin Rogers III (Brandi McDaniel, Hannah M Rogers), Jennifer Barton (Kyle and Mary Kathryn Moseley {Abel}, Lorelie, Sarah Doyle), Eric King (Skylar, Riley, Eden) and Rachel Hoard (Pierce Trotter, Jojo and Rivers Alley, Lillian Hoard). He will be missed greatly by family and friends alike, but his light and joy will continue to be shared by those that knew and loved him.
Moseley Funeral and Cremation Service in West Columbia is overseeing the arrangements. Visitation will be 6-8 pm on August 29th at Moseley Funeral and Cremation Service. Celebration of life service will on Friday, August 30th at Columbia Friends Meeting located at 120 Pisgah Church Rd, Columbia SC 29203.
