Ruby J. Arrington

Mrs. Arrington passed away Wednesday, August 20, 2025 at her home surrounded by her loving family. She was born in Columbia, South Carolina and was the daughter of the late John Lewis Carter and Ruby Beatrice Rabon Carter. She retired from the Richland County auditor’s office after 20+ years of service and was very active in her church, North Columbia Baptist Church. Mrs. Arrington enjoyed baking and cooking and working in her yard, and was always going out of her way to care for her neighbors. Mrs. Arrington is survived by her children, Lannette Davis (Randy) Vicky Mills and Brenda Sealy (Chad); grandchildren, Amber, Trent, Rachel, Michaela, Carter and Alexis; 11 grandchildren and brother Donald Carter (Ann) and many nieces and nephews. She is predeceased by her husband, Robert (Bob) Arrington, her parents, and sister, Ann Mummey and brother-in-law, Bob Mummey, brother, John Lewis “Butch” Carter, and son in law, Billy Mills.

A service to celebrate the life of Ruby J. Arrington, 86, of Columbia will be held Saturday, August 23 at 11 AM at North Columbia Baptist Church. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the church. Burial will be private.
