Freeport Ill— Harry Ruer, a longtime Florida resident, and beloved father passed away on August 30,2025 in Byron, Illinois. He was born on February 23,1944 in San Luis Obispo, California to Charles and Anna (Hoffman) Ruer. Harry graduated from Lane Tech High School in Chicago and then served in the Navy from 1863-1967. Harry was a handyman who could fix or remodel anything. He was a specialist in restoring Victrola record players as well.
Harry was predeceased by his parents, his brothers Ronald and Joe, and his sister Shirley. He is survived by his daughter Audrey (A.J.) in Rockford, his son Joshua (Dana) in Iowa, and his 9 grandkids.
At Harry’s request, there will be no service.
