Patricia Ann Ruer (nee Rakes), age 82, passed away peacefully at home on Sunday, February 19, 2023 with her loving family by her side.
Patricia was born on September 14, 1940 in Chicago, IL. First and foremost she was a dedicated wife, mother, grandmother, and daughter. Pat never missed a performance, game or family event and she loved to shop, travel, and spend quality time with her granddaughters. Her granddaughter slumber parties were legendary.
She enjoyed painting and interior design, travel, gardening, and White Sox baseball. Pat loved
her pets Jenny, Ties, and Madison. She was a member of MahJongg, Bocce, and Bowling clubs.
Family was always her greatest source of joy. She will be dearly missed by all who knew her.
Patricia is survived by her loving children, Cindy (David) Rosenberg and Bob (Amy) Ruer; and cherished granddaughters, Abby Rosenberg, Sarah Ruer, Samantha Ruer, Carly Rosenberg, and Jaclyn Rosenberg.
Preceded in death by her beloved husband, Jack Ruer; and parents, Lee and Eleanor Rakes.
A visitation for Patricia will be held on Thursday, February 23, 2023 from 12pm until the time of service at 1pm at Davenport Family Funeral Home, 149 West Main Street, Barrington, IL. Burial to follow at Randhill Park Cemetery in Arlington Heights, IL.
In lieu of flowers, donations in Patricia's name may be made to Save-A-Pet Inc (www.saveapetil.org/give-online/
