Harry W. Schaefer, 85, of North Attleboro, MA, formerly of Attleboro, MA passed away unexpectedly on December 14, 2025, upon arrival to Sturdy Memorial Hospital in Attleboro, MA. He was the husband of the late Diana (Kiff) Schaefer who died in 2015.
Born in Attleboro, MA on October 23, 1940, he was a son of the late William Schaefer and the late Jean D. (Shallis) Schaefer. He was a lifelong resident of the greater of the Attleboro area. Raised in Plainville, MA, Mr. Schaefer attended King Philip Regional High School.
He was a proud veteran of the United States Navy having served during the Cuban Missile Crisis.
Mr. Schaefer was employed as a welder for Bird Machine for many years and later as a Plainville Special Police Officer before retiring from AutoParts in Franklin, MA.
He was the father of Harry E. Schaefer of South Attleboro, MA and the late Laura Schaefer Malsky.
In addition, he leaves his grandchildren: April Girouard, Megan Malsky and Kaitlyn Malsky; his two great grandchildren: Harper Girouard and Camille Girouard and was the brother of Carol Reed of North Attleboro, MA and the late William Schaefer and the late Robert Schaefer.
Funeral services will be private followed by burial in the Plainville Cemetery, Plainville, MA.
