Harry Wolfe

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Harry S. Wolfe Jr., who left us on March 29, 2026, at the age of 78. A resident of Morgantown, West Virginia, Harry was a beloved husband, father, brother, and friend.

He is survived by his wife of nearly 60 years, Alice Smyth Wolfe; his son, Robert Wolfe (Malissa) of Morgantown; and his daughter, Rebecca (Tom) Smith of Greenville, South Carolina; four grandchildren and two great-granddaughters.

He also leaves behind cherished brothers Jim (Nancy), Dave (Peggy), and Kerry (Tricia), as well as sisters Valerie Gutta, Carolyn Cobb (Gale), and Darlene Rife (David), along with many nieces and nephews.

Harry was preceded in death by his parents, Harry S. Wolfe, Sr., and Florence Hilling Wolfe.

Harry was known for his strong work ethic and dedication throughout his life. He retired as a heavy equipment operator and was a proud member of the Operating Engineers Union No. 66.

His career included valued roles as a miner for Petitt Coal, a detailer for Horton Ford, and positions at Francis Engineering and Kanawha Stone. Additionally, he operated his own business for many years, exemplifying his commitment to hard work.

Friends and family will gather on Thursday, April 2, 2026, at the Fred Jenkins Funeral Home from 4PM until the time of services at 6PM with Pastor B. Gale Cobb officiating. Honoring Harry's wishes, cremation will follow. Private inurnment will be held by the family at a later date.

Harry will be deeply missed but fondly remembered for his lifelong dedication to family, community, and hard work by all who knew him.
