Harvey Heup Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Krause Funeral Homes & Cremation Service, Inc. - Brookfield on Apr. 3, 2023.
Answered his Lord's calling and went to his heavenly home April 01, 2023 at the age of 89.
Born and raised in Milwaukee to Harold and Ella (Hagert) Heup May 30, 1933, he was baptized and confirmed in the Lutheran faith and raised alongside his older brother Howard (Elaine) and younger sister Lois (Bob). The family spent many hours working in the family's grocery store and also enjoying summer vacations to Northern WI where his love for fishing and the outdoors was discovered. Always very active and wanting to have fun, he took up tennis and starred on the team, making it to the state finals. After graduating from Custer High School, he chose to go into Tool and Die making where he served his apprenticeship at Dickten and Masch in Milwaukee.
In 1956 he was drafted into the United States Army and stationed in Germany until 1958. After serving his country, he moved to Grafton and continued his career as a Tool and Die maker eventually retiring from Mercury Marine in Fond du Lac. He became a member of Trinity Lutheran Church, Mequon where he served his Lord and performed many duties for the church over his lifetime. Harvey continued his active life style enjoying water skiing, bowling, many trips hunting, camping, and fishing and taking care of his house and yard.
On June 27, 1970 Harvey married the love of his life, Gladys Lynnette Klueger. Over 37 years of marriage they enjoyed many good times and took pride in raising their two sons and becoming grandparents. Later in life Harvey continued enjoying his fishing and time outside, attending the YMCA for fitness classes, playing cards at the Senior Center, and even going to the VA hospital for appointments. Grandpa "Pa" greatly cherished the times he spent watching his grandkids grow and times shared with them. Especially the many fishing trips with his "Ty" and watching all his sporting events.
Over the last 5 years Harvey was given the challenge of dealing with multiple cancers. As with anything else in life, he found a way to rise above it and was determined to not let it get him down. Fun we must have (Spaß müssen wir haben) he would remind us, which is something to always remember.
We will miss you, but you will not be forgotten.
Survived by his two sons, Stephen (Lisa) Heup and Daniel Heup and his grandchildren, Brandon, Brittany (Devin) and Tyler. He is further survived by his two sisters in laws, Elaine Heup and Tess Klueger and his lifelong friend, Louise Porth along with many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Preceded in death by his parents Harold and Ella, brother Howard and sister Lois, nephew Reverend Charles Heup, and many brothers and sisters in laws.
A memorial service will be held on Saturday, April 8, 2023 at 1:00 PM with visitation from 11:00 AM until 12:45 PM. A private burial will be held on Monday, April 10. If interested in attending, please contact the family for details.
