Harvey Lee Nichols, Jr., 80, was born November 6, 1944, in Philadelphia, Mississippi to the late Pearleva Miller and the late Harvey Nichols. He transitioned from his earthly life on May 30, 2025, at Mobile Infirmary, Mobile, Alabama. Harvey attended George Washington Carver High School in Philadelphia, Mississippi where he excelled as a member of the basketball and baseball teams. Harvey was united in holy matrimony to Mary Monroe on September 18, 1965. He then moved from Philadelphia, Mississippi to Pascagoula, Mississippi. He was employed at Ingalls Shipyard until retirement in 2008 after 43 years of service. Harvey was preceded in death by his father, Harvey Nichols and Mother Pearleva Miller; sisters, Ruby Miller and Annie Pearl Bingham; brothers, Sterling Miller, Scott Miller, Willie Nichols, Henry Miller, and Thomas Nichols. Harvey leaves to cherish his memories, a devoted wife of fifty-nine years, Mary Nichols; daughters, Vicki Knox, Eunice (Keith) Hurd of Gautier, Mississippi, and Rolonda (Ronald) Long of Moss Point, Mississippi; sisters, Willio Dean (Tommy) Helm of Aroma Park, Illinois, Elaine Hart of
Atlanta, Georgia, Ruthy Shannon, Veronica Hudson, Tracey (Victor) Stewart of Philadelphia, Mississippi, and Sharon Miller of Brandon, Mississippi; brothers, Billy Nichols of Atlanta, Georgia, John Nichols, Willie Miller, Terry (Bridget) Miller, and Michael Miller of Philadelphia
Mississippi; eight grandchildren, five great grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
