Mrs. Lillian Ruth Triplett

Mrs. Lillian Ruth Thompson Triplett, 94, was born on June 30, 1929, in D'Lo, Mississippi to her late parents, Ned Thompson and Earleane Collins Thompson. Lillian, known as Ruth and Ma Ruth to many, truly knew that it was more blessed to give than to receive. She was a loving mother, grandmother, great grandmother, aunt, cousin and friend. Although she is gone from her earthly home, she will live on in our hearts forever. Ruth loved her career working as a social worker for the Head Start programs (first at Jackson County Citizens for Child Development, Inc, and later at Jackson County Civic Action Committee, Inc.). She loved her job so much that she earned a degree from the University of Southern Mississippi in Hattiesburg, Mississippi to become a licensed social worker. She was a member of the Eastern Star, Heroines of Jerico, Daughters of Isis, Ruth Court #1, Veterans of Foreign Wars, Elks Lodges, AARP, American Red Cross, Our Daily Bread, St. Vincent, Pascagoula Senior Citizens Upbeat Line Dancers and the Senior Citizens Golden Age Club. She was very active in her community She was preceded in death by her parents, Ned Thompson and Earleane Collins Thompson; husband, Willie C. Triplett, Sr.; brother, Leroy Thompson; nephew, Larry Thompson; late husband, James C. Willis, Sr.; devoted bonus daughter, Antoinnette Willis-McClain; bonus sons, Julius K. Willis, Morris Wayne Willis and James Willis, Jr. Ruth leaves behind to cherish her loving memories, her daughter, Patricia Ann (James) Mingo; grandchildren, Tory Mingo (Sha'Ron Sanders), Tericka Mingo and Tyrell ( Kenyotta) Mingo; great grandchildren, Aaron (Rachel) Davison, Jade Alise Mingo, Tya Mingo, Tia Mingo, Saralyn Jackson, Tyrell Mingo, Jr., Torian Mingo, Kyla Landrum, Brelon Charles, Breyana Charles and Shavon Collins; bonus daughter, Linda Maxie; bonus son-in-law, Steve McClain; bonus daughter-in-law, Warnetta Willis; bonus grandchildren, Tabious Crosby and Franscheska Willis; nephews, Roy Lee (Phyllis) Thompson and Jimmie Earl Tatum; nieces, Brenda Magee, Earnestine Reynolds, Michelle Thompson-Moore, and Hezetine Thompson; devoted niece, Mary Ann (Charles) Millender; special cousin, Annette Powell; and a host of other relatives and friends.
