Mrs. Harveyleen Rollins, age 86, of Varnell, Georgia, passed away peacefully on Friday, February 7, 2025.
She was born on Wednesday, May 4, 1938, in Varnell, Georgia, to the late Mr. Harve and Mrs. Lela Hackney.
Harveyleen was an active and dedicated citizen of the City of Varnell throughout her entire life. She served as the city’s Postmaster from 1969 until her retirement in 2012. She also served two terms on the Varnell City Council, as well as President of the Varnell Homemakers Club. Most recently, Harveyleen was honored as the Varnell Day Honoree at the City’s second annual Varnell Day Celebration.
In addition to her parents, Harveyleen is preceded in death by her first husband, Charles Massingill, as well as her second husband, Theodore ‘Dock’ Rollins. She is also preceded in death by her sisters, Mattie Lee Fauscett and Virginia Hackney.
Harveyleen is survived by her two daughters, Tammy Massingill and Penny Massingill; her grandchildren, Amber (Cecil) Gilbert, Brett (Aleria) Rushing, Derek (Annastasia) Craft, Eric (Raven) Craft, and Cris (Tiffany) Rushing; her great-grandchildren, Ashley, David, Simon, Kennedy, Caden, Avalynn, and Samantha; and her special niece, Tawndra Fauscett.
A graveside service to honor and celebrate Harveyleen’s life will be held on Wednesday, February 12, 2025, at 2:00 P.M. at Varnell Cemetery with Rev. Bret Bellamy officiating. Gentlemen serving as pallbearers for Harveyleen will be Derek Craft, Eric Craft, Brett Rushing, Cris Rushing, Cecil Gilbert, and Terry Craft.
Friends are cordially invited to visit with the family on the evening of Tuesday, February 11, 2025 from 6:00 P.M. until 9:00 P.M. at Love Funeral Home.
