Harvie Mason Hurda

CORDELE – Harvie Mason Hurda, 94, passed away August 5, 2023 at Blackshear Villa. Cordele, Ga. Her service will be conducted Tuesday August 8, 2023 at Warwick Methodist Church. Service will be conducted in the Sanctuary at 11:00 A M with the visitation beginning one hour prior to the service.
Harvie was born February 3, 1929 in Vidalia, Georgia to Margie Florene Palmer and Roy Claude Mason.
Harvie lived most of her life in Jacksonville, Florida, moving to Yulee, Florida and later back to Georgia. Harvie and the love of her life Frank J. Hurda, Jr. were married January 31, 1948. She was an exceptional wife, homemaker, mother and grandmother. Harvie and Frank were married 60 years and had a wonderful, loving life together. Harvie was a creative person, whether it was baking, sewing or painting, she excelled. She was such a good gardener she could almost make a dead stick grow. She was an active member of the Warwick Methodist Church.
Harvie was preceded in death by her mother and step-father Margie and Dave Rowell, daughter Jacqui H. Huff, Brother Claude Mason and her beloved husband Frank Hurda. She is survived by her daughter and son-in-law Margie and Stan Jones, grandson Mason D. Jones, nieces Flo McRae and Becky King, her sister-in-law Helen Mason, and many other nieces and nephews.
The family would like to thank the Warwick Methodist Church Family for being so faithful to her, and to the Staff of Blackshear Villa for the loving care they extended to Harvie.
