HATTIE WILSON Obituary

Hattie M. (Wilcox) Wilson, 85, of Wellsboro, passed away Monday August 25, 2025, at the Green Home in Wellsboro. She was born September 3, 1939, in Wellsboro, to Richard and Gladys (Makin) Wilcox.
She graduated from Wellsboro High School in the class of "58", and in 1996 married Cortland V. Wilcox. They shared 18 years of marriage before he passed away July 10, 2014. Hattie had worked in housekeeping at Soldiers and Sailors Hospital in Wellsboro, she was a member of the Tioga Tabernacle Baptist Church and was proud to have had the opportunity to serve as a foster grandparent in the program at Wellsboro's Charlotte Lappla Elementary School.
Hattie is survived by two stepsons: Ben Wilson (Melinda) of Nashville, Tenn., and George Wilson (Margaret) of Pittsburgh and several grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents and husband; three brothers: Clifton, Paul, and Howard Wilcox and two sisters: Lottie Wilcox and Millice Moore.
Friends and family are invited to pay tribute to Hattie's life from 11 a.m.-12 noon Friday, September 5 at the Tussey-Mosher Funeral Home, 139 Main Street, Wellsboro, and at 12 p.m. in the funeral home for her funeral service. Burial will be in the Shumway Hill Cemetery next to her twin sister, Lottie. To share a memory or condolence with her family visit www.tusseymosher.com.
