Mrs. Haydee Casiano Rivera was born on October 7, 1938, in Puerto Rico. She passed away on October 31, 2025, in Tallahassee, Florida. She was a dedicated wife and mother. She was married to Maximino Casiano, a Master Sergeant in the United States Army. As an army wife, she traveled throughout the United States and numerous countries. She endured a number of "white glove" inspections as her husband was deployed to different Army bases. She had three children, a son Max John Casiano, and two daughters, Sonia Haydee Casiano and Ivette Yolanda Casiano.
Her son had numerous health issues including cerebral palsy and, although never confirmed, he was believed to also suffer from muscular dystrophy. Although he died in his early twenties, due to the care provided by Doña Haydee, he far exceeded the life span expected by his doctors.
Her daughter Sonia, completed her education in Puerto Rico, worked as a teacher, married, and eventually settled down in Florida. Unfortunately she was afflicted with muscular dystrophy and ultimately lost her battle against the disease in July of 2025. For many years Sonia was a friend and confidant to her mother, and her untimely death severely affected Doña Haydee.
Her youngest daughter, Ivette, also completed her education in Puerto Rico. She moved to Tallahassee in the mid 80's. Daily conversations with Doña Haydee were the norm, even when living in different area codes. They would talk for hours about anything and everything. Through the years both Doña Haydee and her daughters looked forward to daily conversations, and visits when circumstances allowed.
Doña Haydee loved family. Holidays and birthdays were always celebrated with get-togethers and copious amounts of food. She would often invite her daughters and their husbands to dinner, just to have the family together. She enjoyed playing games, and reminiscing, often with a great deal of laughter. With the death of each child, a light was extinguished until There was no longer any light in her life. She will be remembered with love for her devotion to family and friends
