Hayden Nicholas Henderson, age 20, of Locust Grove, Georgia passed away on Monday, February 24, 2025. He was born on August 14, 2004, in Stockbridge, Georgia to Nicholas Aaron Henderson and Heather Adonia Wooten.
A proud 2022 graduate of Locust Grove High School, Hayden lived life with passion, kindness, and an unwavering love for the people around him. His greatest love was baseballhe didnt just play the game, he lived it. From the dirt of the field to the thrill of competition, from coaching the next generation to the deep friendships formed along the way, baseball was at the core of who he was. His talent and dedication led him to commit to the Coastal Alabama Baseball Program after high school, continuing to chase the game he loved. To many in his ball family, he was known simply as "Haydog," a name that carried with it admiration, respect, and countless memories.
Hayden was a competitor in every sense of the word. In addition to baseball, he thrived in the individual challenge of high school wrestling, where he pushed himself to new limits and found strength in perseverance. Whether on the mat or the field, he gave his all, embodying determination and heart in everything he did.
Beyond sports, Hayden had a heart for people. He loved fiercelyhis family, his ball family, and his friends. If you were in Haydens life, you knew you were valued, supported, and truly loved. His friendships were deep, his loyalty unwavering, and his generosity was unmatched.
Off the field, he found joy in golfing with his brothers, cheering on the Atlanta Braves and Georgia Bulldogs, watching NASCAR, and fishingalways chasing the next big catch. A rising star in the pipefitting trade, he was building a future with the same determination and dedication that he brought to everything he did.
To his family, Hayden was their rockthe one they could always count on. To his brother Levi, he wasnt just a sibling, he was a best friend. And among the many special bonds he cherished, none was stronger than the one he shared with his Grandpa Buck, who preceded him in passing and surely welcomed him home with open arms. He was also preceded in death by his mother, Heather Wooten Anderson and grandfather, Donnie Wooten.
He is survived by his parents, Nick and Heather McCarty Henderson; brothers, Levi Aaron Henderson, Kase Asher Henderson, Knox Sawyer Henderson, and Nathaniel Anderson; step-dad, Josh (Dana) Anderson; grandparents, Lynn Shirley Henderson, Rodney (Evelyn) Henderson, Rita Yates (Robert "Tater) Maxwell, Bobby McCarty, Donna (Gary) Ledbetter; great-grandparents, Carolyn Shirley and Paul Yates; several aunts, uncles, cousins, and extended family members.
Haydens absence leaves a hole that can never be filled, but his spirit will live on in the laughter of his loved ones, the crack of a bat on a summer evening, and the countless lives he touched with his kindness and generosity.
Rest easy, Haydog. You will forever be loved, forever be missed, and forever be remembered.
