Matthew Paul Frank, 26, of Stockbridge, GA, passed away on August 7, 2021, after a short but extremely intense battle with cancer.
Matthew was a lifelong resident of the Atlanta area. He loved sports and played football at Our Lady of Mercy High School, the US Air Force Academy, and Kennesaw State University. He graduated from KSU with a degree in Marketing.
Matthew worked in the social media marketing profession but also continued his love of sports through coaching football as an offensive line coach at his high school alma mater and most recently at Locust Grove High School.
Matthew is survived by his parents, John and Kathy of Stockbridge, GA; his sister Suzanne and husband Dalton, and their son Oliver of McDonough GA; and his sister Abigail of Stockbridge, GA. He is also survived by his aunts and uncles Linda and Randy Kissel of Cincinnati, OH; Mary Burns and Renee Gavel of Fayetteville, GA; Viji Burns of Marietta, GA; and Gary Boyd of Rossville, GA. He also leaves behind cousins Kyle and Vicky Kissel and their children Max and Kylie; Ashley and Michael Peter; Drew and Nicole Kissel and their son Carson; Nick Kissel; Randi Kissel; Charlie Kissel; Kayce and Dustin Dowd and their children Carter and Grayson; Stephen and Jessica Gavel and their children Kayla and Kazuma Nozawa (and their daughter Emi) and Stephen Gavel, Jr; Vino Balachandran; Shaan Balachandran; and Akriti Balachandran.
He is proceeded in death by his grandparents, his aunt Sue Boyd, and his uncle Mike Burns.
A viewing will be held at Sylvian Funeral home is Stockbridge, GA, from 12pm to 7 pm on Tuesday, August 17, 2021. There will be a private funeral mass the next day, which will be live streamed. A memorial celebration of life will be announced at a later date.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to The EHE Foundation at fightehe.org.

John & Kathy, I wanted to express my deepest condolences to you and Matt's family. I can't remember a single time that he didn't have me smiling or laughing. From his telling me and his SJE basketball teammates what model Lamborghini he was going to buy when he made it to the NBA and replaced Zaza Pachulia on the Atlanta Hawks to watching him fearlessly cruising through other squadrons at USAFA during parent's weekend. Matt will truly be missed by me and my family.
