Our beloved Hazel Wright Anderson transitioned on October 24, 2025 at home with her loved ones by her side.
Hazel moved to Trenton at the age of 18 and started her first job at Donnelly Hospital in Hamilton. She then went on to the State of New Jersey Community Affairs, where she served faithfully for 35 years until her retirement in 2005.
Hazel joined and attended Friendship Baptist Church under the leadership of the late Rev. E.A. Davis. She sang in the Progressive Choir for many years and attended Wednesday afternoon Bible Study.
She especially enjoyed spending time with family and friends, shopping, going out for dinner after church, and helping those in need.
The greatest delight of her life was spending time with her sweet granddaughters, Alanna and Amina. She was a combination of warmth, kindness, laughter, and love. They will always hold a cherished place in their memories and hearts.
Hazel met and married Herman T. Anderson, and they married on February 14, 1975. This union was blessed with two beautiful and precious daughters, Pamela and Tracey.
In addition to her parents, Hazel was predeceased by siblings, Fairy Davis, Mary Lue Jordan, Frettie Newsome, Precious Evans, Lucious, Hubert, Willie, Charlie, Jimmy, and Major Wright, Jr.
She is survived by her daughters, Pamela (Andre) Ingram and Tracey A; granddaughters Alanna and Amina (Bunny) Ingram; her sister, Cora Belton; sisters-in-law, Margaret Evans, Ethel Wright and Cheryl Anderson; special nieces, Brenda and Barbara Newsome, Latasha and Princess Ingram, Keyonna Walker; a close friend, Harold Kidd; as well as many other nieces, nephews and friends.
