Hazel Gene "Jean" Daniels passed away peacefully at her home on February 8th, 2026 at the age of 78. She was born November 10,1947 at Enterprise to her parents William Frank and Hazel "Beard" Basden.

Jean grew up and attended Enterprise School until the 9th grade. She graduated from Quinton High School in 1966. She married the love of her life Leon Daniels on October 1, 1966 and made their home together at Kinta. She spent many years doing hair in her own beauty salon and could be found on any given day brush hogging somewhere. She was a very active member of the Kinta First Baptist Church where she taught Sunday School for many years. Jean was also a member of the Kinta Volunteer Fire Department for many years. If you were lucky enough to be invited to one of her Sunday dinners, you know. She had a love of cooking, gardening, sewing, fishing and chasing her grandbabies.

She is survived by her 2 daughters, Gina Daniels of Kinta, Leslie McKee and husband Johnny of Quinton; 6 Grandchildren, Boniblu Choate, Max Choate, Cash Choate, Blayne Holt and husband Chance, Cale Heath and fiancee C.J. Jordan, Hattie McKee; 1 Great Grandchild, Nova; 2 Brothers, Clay Basden and wife Beverly, Doug Basden and wife Shannon; 3 Sisters, Glenda Karch and husband Rodney, Earlene Prentice and husband Neal, Vicki Horton and husband Jack; Numerous nieces, nephews and cousins. She is preceded in death by her parents, Frank and Hazel Basden; Husband, Leon Daniels; 3 Sisters, Shirley Holley, Joyce Ann Furman, Donna Cox; 2 Brothers, Don Basden, Bill Basden; In-Laws, James and Louise Randall; Brother in Law, Freddie Daniels; Sister in Law Nancy Basden; Uncles, Roch Daniels, Leo Daniels; Nieces, Suzi Collins, Nickie Basden. Memorial Service will be held Wednesday February 11th, 2026 at 2:00 P.M. at R.E. Shearwood Memorial Chapel with Chaplain Jeff Little officiating. The Eulogist will be Mr. Scott Kniess. Honorary Pallbearers will be Scott Kniess, Bill Mathews, Johnny Joe McKee, Cale Heath, Max Choate, Cash Choate, Kinta Volunteer Fire Department.
